Another Magic is the solo project of Thomas Arndt, a Seattleite who grew up in the local punk scene but found his true calling after moonlighting as a drummer in Rio de Janeiro’s Carnaval. After months living abroad, performing in the streets for thousands of people, Arndt came home to focus on finding his own wild form of self-expression, manifested in the out-of-the-box musical tendencies of this raucous debut.

With a focus on rhythm and percussion, Another Magic’s debut swirls the line between organic and manufactured sound, combining field recordings with synths to play with the dichotomies in the world around us. The music gleefully pushes at musical boundaries and, absent any guitars, relies solely on drums, acoustic basses and eroded synths to underscore cascading layers of vocal harmony.
